Making the most of the Pebble Beach Concours d'Élégance, the most famous of its kind in North America, Acura unveiled the future of its brand: the Precision EV Concept, forerunner to the 2024 Acura ZDX SUV which will be launched next year.
The 2024 Acura ZDX, whose name comes from a previous Acura model, will get a new, modern design and an abundance of technologies for both security and engine. It is a first step towards electrification for Acura, whose electrification plan anticipates the creation of a dozen models in the new few years.
The 2024 Acura ZDX: A Stunning Style
The new Acura ZDX is inspired by a spectacular concept. The Precision EV version displays a whole new architecture and a silhouette which has nothing in common with what the brand had made available in its Acura cars up until now.
One of the most remarkable components of the prototype must be the light-up grille, with its reflections and forms which call to mind backlit diamonds. The lozenge shapes, which follow Acura's "Particles Glitch" philosophy are also repeated on the spokes of the oversized wheels.
Of course, it is likely that the 2024 ZDX production car will not show so manycontemporary stylized lines, but we can be certain it will keep some elements. The floating roof, for instance, seems like it could be an integral part of the new style.
As you can imagine, the roof does not actually float, but is created by visually separating the roof from the rest of the car. The whole gives the impression that the roof is suspended in the air without being held up by the car pillars.
The 2024 ZDX: Unrestrained Power
For now, we do not know the mechanical capacity and the autonomy estimated for the 2024 Acura ZDX, since no technical details have been released yet. However, we do know that the vehicle will share the Ultium Battery Platform that was developed by General Motors for its new electrical models.
The 2024 ZDX will also share the platform with the Cadillac Lyriq, the next electric vehicle from the American luxury brand.
We can assume that, like its counterpart, the new electric SUV will have a driving range of around 500 kilometers and that Acura ZDX horsepower will be approximately 340for its entry-level model.
All the same, Acura plans to launch another version, the ZDX Type S, more powerful than the base model, which could have all-wheel drive and deliver up to 500 horsepower. It is worth noting that Acura Type S models are the sportiest and most powerful of their range. That's the case with the all new 2023 Integra Type S.

The 2024 Acura ZDX SUV: New Technologies
Acura could not create an electric vehicle this modern without giving it a long list of technologies that contribute to both comfort and efficiency. The 2024 ZDX should have an infotainment system with full smartphone compatibility, and it should include various driver assistance systems.
However, it should be noted that we cannot rely too much on the Precision EV concept to know more about the 2024 Acura ZDX, since the prototype is equipped with systems that are still under review. The two-grip yoke-style steering wheel, for instance, which during autonomous mode retracts into the dashboard, is one of those components that we suspect might not make it to the production car.
The Electrification of Acura Vehicles
With the first electric crossover of its brand, Acura wants to demonstrate its capacity to build zero-emission vehicles, without making any compromises on comfort, finish or versatility.
The previous generation of the ZDX, a crossover on the skimpy side, did not offer much cargo space. With the new 2024 Acura ZDX, Acura wants to correct this, and the loading capacities of the vehicle will be closer to other SUVs of the brand, such as the Acura MDX and the RDX.
