After unveiling the 2023 Acura Integra Prototype last fall, the manufacturer has freshly revealed its production model and confirmed some technical information. The car will take the place of the ILX in the lineup.
Learn more about what we know on the upcoming Acura Integra, which is making a comeback after a 20-year absence, including its powertrain, design and technologies.
At the top of the Honda Civic sedan lineup is the sporty Civic Si. The new Acura Integra borrows its 1.5L VTEC turbocharged 4-cylinder engine from the Civic Si. This engine gives it 200 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque.
The engine comes standard with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that includes a step-shift function with paddle shifters. Those who prefer a manual transmission will be pleased to know that the A-Spec version can be equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission. A limited-slip differential is also available for even more driving pleasure.
Comfort, Normal, Sport and Individual driving modes allow you to control your settings. The suspension is fully independent for a smoother, more comfortable ride, and can be complemented with an optional adaptive damping.
On the outside, the 2023 Acura Integra displays some of the brand's signature features, including the distinctive Jewel Eye LED headlights. The frameless diamond pentagon grille also reveals the Acura symbol in the centre.
As hinted at in the prototype, the name "Integra" is embossed on the front and rear bumpers, a detail carried over from the previous Integra. The car comes standard with 17-inch wheels; the Acura Integra A-Spec version adds 18-inch wheels with high-performance tires.
Furthermore, the A-Spec is distinguished as always by contrasting black trim and affirms its sporty character with a rear spoiler.
In addition to the powertrain, the Acura Integra interior also shows some similarities to the Civic's, but adds some upscale features:
Standard features include synthetic leather for passengers and 8-way power driver's seat and heated front seats. With the A-Spec and Elite package, it displays leather and Ultrasuede trim as well as 12-way driver's seat adjustment.
The full infotainment technology package includes:
Amazon's Alexa assistant is also available for simplified interactions with the car. At the top of the lineup, enjoy a premium audio system from ELS Studio 3D with 16 speakers for an immersive sound experience.
The sporty car also offers you optimum peace of mind with a comprehensive set of driver assistance technologies, the AcuraWatch suite. This includes:
In addition, the AcuraWatch suite has been enhanced with a camera equipped with an optimized field of view. Features like traffic sign recognition and head-up display are also available.
Acura goes one step further by adding class-exclusive airbags, i.e., front airbags that reduce the risk of brain and neck injuries.
