As mentioned, the TLX has undergone some cosmetic changes: it’s now more rugged, lower and wider, rendering its sporty look complete. However, its lines are sleek and well defined, as are its new JewelEye LED headlights, each with 7 LED lamps. The diamond grille is still present and the Acura A-Spec and Acura Type S add even sportier elements to the mix.
This sportiness extends to the engine: the standard 2.0 L engine with 272 horsepower and a very responsive 280 lb-ft of torque. The super-handling all-wheel drive system and integrated dynamic system also come with all models for exceptional handling.
With the Type S, designed for performance driving, a turbocharged V6 engine powers the vehicle with 355 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. The Sport+ driving mode, 20-inch wheels, a leather-wrapped sports steering wheel and Ultrasuede seats are other features exclusive to this model.
The 2021 Acura TLX sedan’s cabin is very comfortable, including a 12- or 16-way power driver’s seat with 4-way lumbar support. The front seats are also heated and ventilated; the rear seats are heated in the Platinum Elite model.
The Acura experience also includes music: the ELS Studio audio system features 10 to 17 speakers with subwoofer. In addition to a visually harmonious interior - think platinum wood trim - the optional 24-theme ambient lighting adds a modern touch.
Another interesting visual feature is the 10.2-inch high-definition touchscreen, which comes with a touchpad for easy operation.
