For example, the Acura TLX was introduced for the first time at the New York International Auto Show in 2014. The TLX model was introduced the same year in order to replace the Acura TL models. Moreover, this last version had four generations between 1995 and 2014. Luxurious and quite slender sedan at first, the TL model evolved started to change in 1999 with the introduction of the TLX version to become the remarkable sedan we know today.
In 2004, the Japanese manufacturer launched a new, slightly shorter version of the TL that was delivered with a range of three 3.2-liter and 3.5-liter V6 engines. But it will be the last generation that will mark the Acura TL, which will regain in length and become a luxury vehicle with its ultra-powerful 3.7-liter V6 engine and its SH-AWD all-wheel drive. In any case, the Acura TL was a magnificent high-end sedan.
In 2014, the all-new Acura TLX presented itself as an indisputable high-end, luxury car, and it quickly became a distinguished vehicle to drive. It offers many features and innovative features.
In 2015, the TLX model came equipped with a 3.5-liter, direct injection, V6 SOHC VTEC engine, which enabled it to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 7 second. Between 2015 and 2018, the Acura TLX didn't experience any major changes. All models in these years were equipped with LED headlights, amber LED turn signals integrated into the side mirrors, and LED rear brake lights. The 2015 to 2018 models are shorter than the Acura TL, but their weight remains the same as the TSX model. The main improvement was in the suspension, which was more malleable and better tailored to our road conditions. In addition, the soundproofing of the cabin is a remarkable improvement.
In 2018, the Acura TLX has undergone major transformations. The most obvious were a more aerodynamic body, with a reinvented front grille and wheels that give it a modern and very sophisticated aesthetic. Its exterior design was reflecting modern trends, and it didn't take more to attract the eye of the drivers. The interior of the TLX model is now equipped with an infotainment system and many advanced features, including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Its A-Spec performance trim enhances the elegance of the model.
In 2019, the Acura TLX still offers four- and six-cylinder engines, with either front or all-wheel drive. The four-cylinder version features a 2.4-liter engine with 206 horsepower, while the 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine offers 290 horsepower. This sporty performance sedan remains a wise choice for many years to come.
Like its predecessors, the 2019 Acura is a reliable vehicle and an excellent value for the money, with outstanding handling and a head-turning look. Born from a merger of the TSX and the TL, the 2019 Acura is a highly regarded sedan that easily competes with the others big names of its class.
