The Japanese automaker is constantly innovating, and for 2024 it’s offering its first powerful, high-performance, cutting-edge 100% electric SUV. Let’s take a look at the 2024 Acura ZDX and its most flamboyant features.
First of all, we know that the Acura ZDX EV A-Spec comes standard with a 340 hp rear electric motor. A second motor with all-wheel drive is also available as an option. With this powertrain, the Acura ZDX will have a range of 500 km, and a little more for the base model with the rear electric motor.
And with the Acura ZDX Type S, a variant of the original model, we’re talking about two even more powerful electric motors with up to 500 hp and a range of over 500 km.
This breathtaking model will feature a more aggressive suspension set-up with adaptive shock-absorbers and larger 6-piston Brembo brakes, as well as 22-inch tires and wide (275 mm vs. 265 for the A-Spec with 20-inch wheels).
As Daniel Rufiange notes in Auto 123:
“Each ZDX will feature a 102-kWh battery and an integrated charger capable of delivering 190 kW of power for rapid recharging. Range will of course vary according to the variant chosen. A rear-wheel drive A-Spec model will offer 523 km, while the all-wheel drive version will suggest 507 km.”
The ZDX Type S will offer a range of around 465 km.
With its athletic, futuristic look, the Acura ZDX has a distinctive silhouette with a long muzzle, a pentagonal grille featuring the Acura logo and long, slim, stylized LED headlights. In short, the all-new Acura ZDX electric does not go unnoticed.
Inside the cabin, you’ll find a technological dashboard that’s lower than in other Acura Canada models, stylish, slimline air vents, and two touchscreens measuring 11.0 and 11.2 inches. The first serves as a digital instrument display, while the second is dedicated to the infotainment system.
Even more spectacularly, all versions of the Acura ZDX will be equipped with Bang & Olufsen’s (B&O) 18-speaker high-end audio system. You’ll also get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and much more.
Finally, a Google Maps navigation system will allow you to choose your route, which will include stops at charging stations along the way.
As this is an Acura SUV, the dimensions unveiled by the manufacturer respect the logic of Acura vehicles; they are imposing and well-calibrated:

So, on closer inspection, the Acura ZDX for sale is more in line with the Acura MDX than the RDX. While the former is a mid-size SUV, the latter is a compact SUV.
The previous comparison leads us to do the same for towing capacity. Acura Canada has announced that its new all-electric SUV can tow up to 3,500 lb (1,588 kg). That sets it right in the middle of the two SUVs already on the market.
The RDX can tow up to 1,500 lb (680 kg), while the MDX has a towing capacity of up to 5,000 lb (2,268 kg).
At the announcement of the all-new 2024 Acura ZDX at Pebble Beach, California, starting prices were broadcasted.
In Canada, the 2024 Acura ZDX will be available for the premium price of $80,000. The more powerful, higher-performance ZDX Type S with all-wheel drive (AWD) will start at over $90,000.
You can already reserve your new SUV this fall at your Acura dealership, for delivery in spring 2024.
In light of the above, there's no doubt that the ZDX is the most powerful vehicle in the Acura line-up cars. Above all, it's an all-electric SUV with a promising range.
